Ljubljana is a city, the capital of Slovenia. Forms the urban community of Ljubljana, divided into seventeen districts.
The population is 258.9 thousand people (2014), or 13% of the country’s population. Over 500 thousand people live in the agglomeration. Located in the intermountain Ljubljana basin on the banks of the river Ljubljanica.
The main political, economic and cultural center of Slovenia. It concentrates over 40% of the country’s GDP and a third of the headquarters of the largest companies in Slovenia. Here is the University of Ljubljana, in which more than fifty thousand students study. Public transport consists of buses.
